Yeah, I actually remembered Alain De Botton too (from The School of Life). He talks about a similar subject a lot. There is no point in hiding. The only person you’re hiding your true desires from is yourself. You’re essentially tricking everyone — and you’ll always be unsatisfied in many respects if you don’t voice your true desires.
