Sushree Mishra, our attitude is really the only thing that we can influence.

I’ve been very interested in Stoic philosophy for a long time (still am) — and they have this concept of ‘dichotomy of control’. It goes like this:

  1. There are things you can control in life
  2. There are things you can’t control in life
  3. Focus on what you CAN control and let go of the rest (because you can’t control it, duh).

It turns out, that the only thing (really) that we can control — is out attitude towards life. That’s what we should influence. That’s the only thing that we can influence.

In this way, happiness is nothing more than a practice, a habit — that comes from thinking positively.

Thank you for writing this.
