On the other side of bad days
When the bad days come, give in to them. As the Buddhists teach us, suffering comes not from the Bad Thing itself — but from our resistance and unwillingness to accept the Bad Thing. The same with the bad days: when you know you’re having one, follow what the Beatles sing: let it be. Don’t work. Don’t go to the gym. Don’t push yourself to be successful. Don’t blame yourself. Let the bad days take over, kick back, and relax. This is the time to binge-watch that Netflix TV show. This is the time to give in to all your guilty pleasures. This is the time to accumulate strength and rest your body, mind, and soul.
If you do that, you’ll find that the next day will be much better. It’ll be full of energy, creativity, and motion. You’ll wake up refreshed and relaxed, ready to rock and roll. You’ll find that all the worries and confusion of yesterday are gone. You’re yourself again.
On the other side of bad days, there are good days.
But they come only if you stop resisting.
