It’s the external habits, the internal ones, etc. Hence, to change your life – change your habit.
For me, tracking helped a lot. I read somewhere: if you want to improve anything, track it.
And it’s true.
Simply keeping an Evernote note about anything – food, reading, money, running, anything at all — puts the mind into a mode of improving this thing that you are tracking.
